Federal and State Civil Tax Representation

Attorney Tami Tolitano, who leads our tax practice, has extensive experience in the representation of individuals and businesses in federal, state and local civil and criminal tax matters. We represent taxpayers involved in civil tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, Illinois Department of Revenue and the local taxing authorities with respect to a wide variety of domestic and international tax matters and issues, including sales and use tax issues. We provide representation at all phases of federal, state and local tax controversies, including audits, appeals, tax litigation and through the tax collection process. We also represent taxpayers involved in criminal tax investigations and criminal tax litigation.

Tax Compliance and Tax Planning

Our tax compliance practice includes the preparation of income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts, as well as estate tax returns, employment tax returns, sales tax returns and local tax returns. We also regularly prepare forms required for various types of foreign transactions and assets, including the Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) form.
